Quantum broadcast channels with cooperating decoders: An information-theoretic perspective on quantum repeaters

چکیده

Communication over a quantum broadcast channel with cooperation between the receivers is considered. The first form of addressed classical conferencing, where receiver 1 can send messages to 2. Another setting involves teleport state When not required recover information and its sole purpose help transmission 2, model reduces primitive relay channel. conferencing intimately related repeaters as sender, 1, 2 be viewed transmitter, repeater, destination receiver, respectively. We develop lower upper bounds on capacity region in each setting. In particular, cutset bound decode-forward are derived for Furthermore, we present an entanglement-formation bound, virtual simulated through conference link. At last, show that opposed multiple access entangled encoders, entanglement decoders does increase communication rates dual.

Limitations on Quantum Key Repeaters

A major application of quantum communication is the distribution of entangled particles for use in quantum key distribution. Owing to noise in the communication line, quantum key distribution is, in practice, limited to a distance of a few hundred kilometres, and can only be extended to longer distances by use of a quantum repeater, a device that performs entanglement distillation and quantum t...

An Information-Theoretic Perspective on the Quantum Bit Commitment Impossibility Theorem

This paper proposes a different approach to pinpoint the causes for which an unconditionally secure quantum bit commitment protocol cannot be realized, beyond the technical details on which the proof of Mayers’ no-go theorem is constructed. We have adopted the tools of quantum entropy analysis to investigate the conditions under which the security properties of quantum bit commitment can be cir...

All-photonic quantum repeaters

Quantum communication holds promise for unconditionally secure transmission of secret messages and faithful transfer of unknown quantum states. Photons appear to be the medium of choice for quantum communication. Owing to photon losses, robust quantum communication over long lossy channels requires quantum repeaters. It is widely believed that a necessary and highly demanding requirement for qu...
